Terms of Use
These terms govern tcgtapi.com, TCGTapi accounts, API keys, wallets, address verification (AVS), and USPS First Class postage. By creating an account, accepting postage terms, or calling an API, you agree to them. TCGTapi is not the United States Postal Service. USPS and related marks belong to their owners.
Accounts
You must give an accurate email, keep credentials confidential, and complete email verification. Access may stay pending until an operator approves the account. We may refuse, suspend, or close an account for abuse, unpaid balances, chargebacks, failed payments, prohibited mail, or legal risk. One TCGTapi account has one First Class shipper profile unless an operator issues a different arrangement.
Developers and marketplaces
Developer accounts use the APIs in apps you operate. You may not open a developer account as a silent proxy so unrelated third parties can buy postage or run AVS under your key without a marketplace arrangement.
Marketplace and platform accounts may resell or embed TCGTapi for sellers, shippers, or connected stores on your platform. You remain the customer of record. You are responsible for your sellers’ use, identity information they submit, mail they tender, and money they cause you to spend. You must not tell sellers that you are USPS or that TCGTapi is a USPS product. You must pass through mailing rules that apply to the pieces they send. We may treat your platform as a single shipper or require separate shipper profiles; that choice is ours.
If you resell, you indemnify TCGTapi for claims, fines, postage, chargebacks, and losses that arise from your sellers, your billing of them, or your description of the service. We have no contract with your end users unless we separately agree in writing.
API keys and limits
Approved accounts create keys and choose which services a key may call. Keys are secret. You may not publish them, share them outside your organization or platform, or probe other customers’ data.
Default First Class limits per API key are 30 requests per hour for developer accounts and 100 requests per hour for marketplace accounts. AVS is restricted: throughput may be denied, lowered, or raised per key by an operator. Those AVS limits are an internal control. They are not a public SLA and are not self-serve. We may change, pause, or customize limits without notice when we see abuse, payment risk, or provider constraints. Exceeding a limit returns an error; retries do not waive the limit.
Wallet, payments, failures, and chargebacks
Usage and postage reserve against the account wallet. There is no guarantee of credit. If a payment, ACH, wire, card charge, or other funding attempt fails, is returned, reversed, or charged back, you still owe the outstanding balance, postage already issued, AVS usage already accepted, and any recovery fees the networks or banks assess, to the extent the law allows.
A chargeback or payment dispute is not a refund of postage or of completed AVS calls. We may freeze keys, First Class buy, and withdrawals while a dispute is open. We may debit the wallet, demand payment, send the debt to collections, and share facts with banks, card networks, USPS, and law enforcement when we reasonably believe there is fraud, NSF patterns, or mail fraud. Where consumer or other law gives you a non-waivable right to dispute a charge, that right still applies; this section does not take it away.
Recourse against TCGTapi is limited to a documented wallet or billing error you report to the operator email on your approval notice. We may credit the wallet if we confirm an error. We do not refund USPS postage because a shipment was late, refused, returned, or never scanned. You waive consequential, incidental, and lost-profit damages to the maximum the law allows. Our aggregate liability for a claim is limited to the amounts you paid us for the APIs in the 30 days before the claim, excluding pass-through postage.
Postage
First Class letters and flats are bought against the platform USPS account and reserved from your wallet. Postage is non-refundable once issued. Voiding or not mailing a piece does not credit the stamp. You and anyone mailing on your behalf — including marketplace sellers — must follow USPS standards and law. You will not mail hazardous, illegal, or nonmailable matter, including cannabis and other controlled substances, prohibited tobacco, or lithium batteries except as USPS allows. You are responsible for the contents of every piece. USPS may refuse, delay, return, or seize mail. False declarations are your liability.
Domestic US letters and flats only. International, customs, parcels, and APO/FPO/DPO are not available. Standard First Class letters and flats are untracked indicia. We cache the day’s First Class option catalog using the USPS mail date (US Eastern time, after-hours and holiday rollover). A postage call uses that catalog; we store the buy response and indicia file on your account.
Address verification
AVS is a decision aid. It does not guarantee deliverability, USPS acceptance, or that a person lives at the address. You must not use AVS to deny housing, credit, or other rights in a way the law forbids. Restricted or custom per-key AVS limits may block or throttle calls.
Service changes
The service is provided as available. We may change endpoints, catalogs, limits, or hours. Account and API access are not tied to any third-party storefront staying online. We are not liable for USPS, bank, or verification-provider outages.
